Originally started in Kansas City in 2011 by LAB 5702 (a Kansas City-based beverage marketing company), the Caffeine Crawl has since expanded nationally. Each crawl is “built around the (host) city’s personality, culture, traffic structure, and local event flow”. This year was Chicago’s second annual Caffeine Crawl. Todays a very special day, did you know that? It’s International Coffee Day! Yeah! Especially for huge coffee lovers like me! And while you will find your favorite coffee shops offering anniversary deals (see Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, 7-Eleven, etc), I am my own barista most of the time.

The big day arrived here in Chicago on Saturday, March 15, as anyone playing any role in the housewares world arrived in Chicago for the 2014 International Housewares Show held at McCormick Place. Retailers, big and small, came to see what exciting new products they could share with their customers. Manufacturers of everything from cookware to kitchen utensils to electrics to dinnerware to glassware to storage materials and beyond all came to display their wares.
