In any big city, the opportunity to check out new restaurants is an ongoing adventure. Over the course of the last few months, I have been invited to visit some really wonderful places that I wanted to share with you. Each place has its own vibe and ambience giving you lots of choices for a great meal or fun night out.

We visited for brunch and from the Bloody Mary’s with the endless bacon option to the punch bowls with a serious kick to the Mimosa Bar, you will start that morning off right.… Read more

Fresh Healthy Vegetable Omelets To Go

Posted by | Bakeware, Housewares, Recipes | 44 Comments

Having a healthy breakfast is the way to start your day off on the right foot. But sometimes finding time to make it is the challenge. With the start of spring, my goal is to create easy, healthy, on-the-go types of dishes. Since eggs are perfect for any time of day, this was a great place to begin.

Most people have muffin pans in their kitchen. Have you ever wondered if there is another way to use them? Well, how about making individual omelets that you can make and eat like you would a cupcake? No fork needed.

Chop Chicago: A Neighborhood Steakhouse

Posted by | Restaurants | 28 Comments

When you think of going to a steakhouse restaurant, what comes to mind? For me, I think of dark, clubby, more formal environments that can have a business feel to them. Well, since that wasn’t the purpose of my dinner this time, I was very happy to discover a new restaurant with a different ambience. Chop Chicago is a new steakhouse located in the South Loop area of Chicago adjacent to the ShowPlace Icon movie theaters in the Roosevelt Collection.

How to Tile a Backsplash

Posted by | DIY, Home Design, Remodel | 16 Comments

Have you ever wondered how hard it is to do some of these DIY projects you see on TV or read about in magazines or blogs? Well, I am pretty adventurous when it comes to trying to do projects around my house. I just try to educate myself as much as possible beforehand. In this situation, it has to do with backsplash tile.

TLC had a show called Trading Spaces where homeowners traded homes and did a remodeling project with the help of a trained interior designer. While there were definitely some questionable things done to their neighbor’s homes (grass on the wall???),… Read more

Posted by | Fundraiser, Restaurants | 12 Comments

Time is of the Essence. Every 67 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease. That’s a scary statistic. As someone whose family has been affected by Alzheimer’s disease, this cause is very close to my heart. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of so many doctors, researchers and the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association, we are seeing progress in better understanding this disease.
