Going for a night out no longer just means going for dinner and drinks. Now, with the launch of Robert Thompson’s Denver based Punch Bowl Social in Schaumburg, you can have an evening (or day) of dining on high quality, creatively designed and plated dishes paired with punch, craft cocktails and adult milkshakes that fit the unique dining experience.
Along with this meal, you will find yourself thoroughly entertained by the wide variety of gaming experiences across several floors of the building. And for anyone who enjoys observing all the activity going on around you, there are plenty of comfy chairs just for you. Note that my favorite spot is cozied up in a big chair in front of the fireplace!
Walking in, you get a sense for the size of the place. There is a large circular bar on one side and a “diner” feel to the rest of the space. You will find 2 other bars on the gaming floors making it ultra convenient to sample the different craft cocktails. Much of the menu showcases local foods and beverages including 10 of the 12 on tap craft beers that are from Illinois.
Coming to Punch Bowl Social isn’t just for a quick burger and beer. Sure, you can do that but you have no idea what you are missing if that is as far as you go on the menu. From breakfast’s Monkey Bread French Toast to the Gastro Diner’s Street Tacos to Cast Iron Burgers like the New Mexican to Craft Sandwiches like the New Order Chicken Sandwich to one of the most unique dishes to share, Cauliflower Nachos (don’t question this, just try them!), you will find so many options that becoming a regular guest will be just a given.
Don’t forget dessert!
And then there are the drinks. Beverage Director, Patrick Williams, made sure you find his menu as unique as the food. Punches like Lord Stanley’s Cup, Old School cocktails, New School options like the bourbon Smash and Milkshakes but the adult versions of them! Non-alcoholic drinks are covered as well with fresh juices, sodas and fizzes.
Now, let’s talk about the other two floors in this entertainment center. Love to bowl? There are two different bowling areas in the building. Video games, pinball, and bocce? Like to sing? Then try the private karaoke booth. Yes, all ready for you!
There are a few notable design aesthetics that are fun to mention. The dining tables are made of reclaimed beetle kill wood. Unique and beautiful. The bright red chairs are made from recycled coke bottles. The artwork made from bicycle seats fits the lodge theme of the gaming center. The wallpaper is a continuous theme from location to location. Like the food, there is a personal touch that creates the Punch Bowl Social brand from city to city.
There are currently 10 Punch Bowl Social gaming centers across the country with more to come. Anytime you are looking to kick back and relax over some seriously good comfort food, craft cocktails and entertainment, check out Punch Bowl Social. (For locations, visit their website here. ) And if you are the Chicagoland area, visit their new Schaumburg location. Come for the food and stay for the games. It is so good!
