When it comes to finding delicious holiday recipes for sides dishes, it’s easy to run out of ideas. In my family, we try to create flavorful yet healthy options to go with the sometimes, decadent meals we eat this time of year.

Mediterranean Quinoa with Kalamata Olives and Roasted Broccoli

Instead of using rice or pasta, I’m using quinoa, which doesn’t fill you up as much. Plus, it is filled with wonderful protein that is always good for you. Starting with Mezzetta’s Kalamata Olives, I began adding ingredients to the quinoa that offered different textures, tastes and colors to make the dish so visually appealing that you will want a big serving.… Read more

But just how do we do this so that the dish looks as appetizing as it tastes? I have a solution for you in the form of a kitchen tool called a Spiralizer. (Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer Pro, 4-Blade)

Inspiring Kitchen Vegetables with a Spiralized Twist

There are a few brands that offer a piece of equipment that does something like the Paderno Spiralizer but this is the one I like the best and recommend. Isn’t there always that moment in the day when you just must have a sweet snack? A little treat that isn’t loaded with calories, ingredients you can’t pronounce and yet still fulfills that need for something sweet. Personally, I love chewy candies. My challenge though is that I don’t want to eat anything made with traditional gelatin as it is made with animal products.

Inspiring Kitchen goody good stuff candy

So, when I learned about Goody Good Stuff all natural gummy candy, (http://goodygoodstuff.com/en/), I was excited to try them (especially since that sweet tooth just doesn’t go away!). What I like about this candy is that not only did they remove the gelatin issue for me, but they also created candy with only natural fruit and vegetable extracts, nothing artificial.… Read more
