I am an official brand advocate for The Laughing Cow® in 2015. While I receive compensation for participating as a brand advocate, opinions are my own.
I admit it. I am a snacker. I work really hard to make smart choices when it comes to snacking though. So, when I was invited to The laughing Cow® Love Your Local event, I welcomed all that was shared with me.
What I found particularly intriguing about The Laughing Cow® cheese brand is the multitude of ways that you could use the different cheese varieties. In addition, those prepackaged wedges make it super convenient to grab and go. In the mood for a luxurious tasting Swiss cheese or one that packs a punch like the spicy pepper jack? Want a little creamy white cheddar with your apple? Here you go! They have an easy solution for you. With eight individually wrapped triangles per wheel, you are able to re-invent snacking to accommodate your cravings.
During the event, I listened to Chef Tanya Baker from The Boarding House, who shared how to pair ingredients together that you wouldn’t normally think of. Ingredients that are sweet, salty or acidic and have different textures are perfect bite size combinations. Adding a little salty crunch with a super creamy cheese is a happy end result.
The recipes that I am sharing illustrate just how simple it is to take less than 5 ingredients and make a snack for yourself or your guests. Aren’t veggies and dip a typical party offering? Well, how about using The Laughing Cow® French Onion cheese spread on a carrot stick and topped with chopped chives. Or what about spreading silky white cheddar on a cracker, top it with a crunchy tart apple slice and drizzle with fresh honey? Sweet, salty and crunchy all in one bite.
Using unique platters for displaying your appetizers is always a creative way to set the table. Try using a piece of slate tile like in the photo. You can even use chalk to write what each item is. Or use your wood cutting board and add a little color with the utensils you are using for that burst of purple (in my case) along with different heights of bowls and containers. Visually appealing and welcoming to anyone that is hungry!
I created the recipes below using flavor combinations based on what Chef Tanya recommended. Hope you enjoy them!
