I love this time of year. The types of food available, the recipes I am able to create with the abundance of seasonal ingredients and the opportunity to cook for those I care about. But it can be so stressful to find the right dishes that accommodate everyone’s dietary preferences. Which is why I am happy to have the opportunity to sit at the table today and get organized for Thanksgiving.

With a big cup of steaming hot mocha, my favorite cookbook authors and my recipe box, I am slowly paging through cookbooks finding recipes that will be a welcome addition to our table. I love coffee which anyone who knows me or reads what I share, knows. I am also open to learning about new brews, equipment and roasts. As you may have read in my previous post where I took the NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice® Challenge, I discovered how convenient instant coffee is for my busy life. How NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice® recently upgraded  its 7 ounce contaners from plastic to glass to lock in freshness. In addition, if you like the grab and go individual stick packs, they are now making an 8 ounce cup of coffee which is a very good thing!

With that in mind and a big menu to plan, I decided to be a little creative with my morning coffee. My favorite part of cooking is the opportunity to invent new ways to make my regular recipes. In this case, I took my NESCAFÉ® Taster’s Choice® French Roast coffee and add a few touches that make it memorable. I use the best quality unsweetened cocoa powder from Valrhona as a start.

By adding a few ingredients, I am able to personalize my cup by turning it into a rich mocha coffee. Depening on your love of chocolate and sweetness, you can adjust to fit your taste. Now, there is no need to run to the local coffee shop and spend too much money on a mocha when you can make it yourself with just a few additions. Sit back and enjoy. Sip the flavors and get ready for “cooking season”! For more recipes and information on Nescafe® Taster’s Choice® Instant Coffee, visit here

Ultimately, my message for the season is to enjoy all the family, friends, cooking and entertaining you will be doing over the next few months. Don’t let the little things get to you. Part of cooking is learning to adjust to preferences and ingredients. Take that philosophy into your life as much as possible. The small issues don’t matter. Relax. Have fun. And enjoy the season!
