On really busy days, I love to make a quick, healthy salad for lunch that is filled with flavor and textures. I am also someone who creates meals based on what I find in my refrigerator and cabinets. A little crunch (nuts, veggies), fruity sweetness (apples, grapes, berries), savory onion (shallot, red, Vidalia) and salty Parmesan cheese satisfies my taste buds. The final touch to that salad is always the dressing. But, finding one that is low in fat, healthy, natural and full of flavor is hard to come by. Lately though, I have been experimenting with balsamic vinegars. So, when Mange Fresh Fruit Vinegars offered to send me a sample of their fruit vinegars, I was intrigued.
What arrived was an elegant bottle of Raspberry Fruit Vinegar. The color is a rich red which suggests how sweet the fruit flavor will be. Perfect for my fruit based salad. Mange Fruit Vinegars are made with pure fruit puree picked at its peak and preserved in vinegar resulting in products that are gluten free, natural with no preservatives and Kosher certified. And they are oil-free giving you the option to add oil to your dishes as desired. Plus, they are shelf-stable and don’t need refrigeration.
Mange offers a wide variety of flavors including Mango, Passion Fruit, Raspberry, Blackberry, Cherry, Blood Orange, Red Pepper, White Peach, Pear Green Apple and Seasonal Fig. While I used the Raspberry Vinegar for my salad, there are so many different ways to use these vinegars. Think ceviches, cocktails, appetizers, marinades for vegetables, meats and fish and even as a dessert. How delicious would a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream be with a drizzle of Blackberry vinegar on top? So refreshing!
