As our travels have come to a halt due to the coronavirus, DoubleTree by Hilton wants to help us appreciate the warmth and comfort of our homes by sharing their exclusive chocolate chip cookie recipe. The even better news is you probably have the ingredients in your pantry already like the chocolate chips themselves and rolled oats. Plus, you get to see the secret ingredient that makes them so delicious.

DoubleTree cookies have a passionate fan following and a long history. More than 30 million are consumed every year. The DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie even became the first food to be baked in orbit during experiments aboard the International Space Station.
Copycat recipes have been shared online for years, but only now has Hilton released the official version to create at home. There is even a video so you can watch the official way the DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie recipe is made.

DoubleTree by Hilton Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs, large
- 1 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- cinnamon, pinch
- 2 2/3 cups Nestle Tollhouse semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer at medium speed for about two minutes.
- Add eggs, vanilla and lemon juice, blending with mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then medium speed for about two minutes or until light and fluffy scraping down bowl.
- With mixer on low speed, add flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, blending for about 45 seconds. Don't overmix.
- Remove bowl from mixer and stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Portion dough with a scoop (about 3 tablespoons) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about two inches apart.
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes or until edges are golden brown and center is still soft.
- Remove from oven and cool on baking sheet for about one hour.
- Cook's note: You can freeze the unbaked cookies. There is no need to thaw. Preheat oven to 300 degrees and place frozen cookies on parchment paper lined baking sheet about two inches apart. Bake until edges are golden brown and center is still soft.
Great great recipe! I will not try any other recipe of chocolate chip cookies. I just love having the rolled oats in it. I will have to try this with raisins!
