After all the years I have worked in the housewares industry, I have learned first hand about the importance of choosing quality brands. They’ve done the research on how we, as home cooks, use our kitchen tools and appliances to make sure that their product(s) meet or exceed our expectations.
So, when it comes to doing the dishes, finding a dishwasher that really does clean and dry our plates, glasses and silverware shouldn’t be a challenge. But with all on the market, how do you choose the one to buy? Since I am in kitchen appliance replacement mode, I have done the research for you. Like any big purchase, I made a list of what I wanted in the dishwasher for daily and party purposes.
Shopping for Bosch 800 Series Dishwashers
Knowing my positive experiences shopping at Best Buy in the past for other household appliances, I returned to the store to look at dishwashers. My conclusion on what will work best for my kitchen is the Bosch 800 Series Dishwasher. A couple quick takeaways. Bosch is known to be energy efficient and very quiet. They are also aware that customers use dishwashers differently and have models created to fit our home’s needs.
Here are the features that I really found to be beneficial for the way I entertain, cook and use the dishwasher:
Loading the Bosch 800 Series Dishwasher
My gatherings are typically on the larger size which means I would like to get all the plates in the dishwasher at the same time not in shifts. This 24 inch width 800 series has a large interior to easily accommodate 16 place settings.
I use all different size dishes, serving pieces and stemware which can be challenging to fit them in the dishwasher. Bosch offers the Rackmatic® adjustable upper rack which easily adjusts to 9 different positions, to allow taller items like stemware to fit in the middle rack while leaving room for bulky items below. In addition, the flip tines make loading wide bowls easy and ball bearing wheels provide a smooth glide.
With Bosch’s EasyGlide™ rack, loading and unloading the dishwasher is easy. The ability to adjust and move the racks, even while they’re full of dishes, is very helpful.
Sound
Bosch dishwashers have a reputation for being very quiet. In the 800 series, an extremely quiet operation (42 dBA) incorporates 18 unique sound-reducing technologies such as multiple insulation layers, grindless food filtration, and a sound absorbing base. Rather than opening the door to make sure it is on, all you need to do is look at the exterior Infolight® which will tell you that the dishwasher is running. No interrupting the cycle.
Cleaning
When I put dishes in the dishwasher, the last thing I want to do is have to wash them by hand AFTER the dishwasher ran because it didn’t get them clean. With PrecisionWash, intelligent sensors continually scan and check the progress of dishes throughout the cycle, and powerful spray arms target every item of every load, for the ultimate clean.
Safety
If you have ever had a dishwasher leak and cause damage to your hard wood floors, you know how frustrating and costly the repairs can be. Bosch has created 24/7 Aquastop® which is a 4-part leak prevention system that uses sensors to detect and stop leaks, and can even turn on by itself. It will protect your floors so you don’t have to worry.

The Goal
After filling the dishwasher with place settings and serving ware, my expectation would be completely clean and dry items. That is just what the new Bosch 800 Series dishwasher delivers thanks to their advanced PrecisionWash technology and patented CrystalDry™ technology. It dries 60 percent better including any plastics in the dishwasher. The revolutionary CrystalDry takes the internal temperature to 176F (an increase over the previous ExtraDry feature and all without additional energy consumption). Note that this *CrystalDry feature is only available in the 800 series dishwashers.
