Since I am fortunate to be surrounded by so many useful, fun and sometimes delicious products as a part of my day, I thought I would begin sharing my 5 favorite finds on a regular basis. Today we are talking fruit and vegetable tools for the kitchen. Summer is the perfect time to put these various items to good use. So, let’s get started!

Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer

Inspiring Kitchen top 5 favorites

This machine is totally worth the money spent on it in my opinion. If you are looking for ways to creatively incorporate more vegetables into your or your children’s diet, this will do the trick. This machine offers a 3 or 4 blade option (I recommend the 4 blade) that allows you to spiralize (slice) vegetables into different thicknesses to be used in stir fries, salads, sandwiches,  as pasta (just peel the zucchini and your kids won’t know it’s a vegetable!) and many other uses that are up to your imagination. This can also be used on potatoes making thinly sliced or curly fries that you can choose to bake or fry, to slice fruits, beets and onions as just a few examples. (Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer Pro, 4-Blade) $45

Lemon Juicer

Inspiring Kitchen 5 Favorite Fruit Vegetabel Finds

Everyone has a hand held juicer of some sort. But does it really work and do you have to use every one of your muscles to get the juice out of the fruit? This lemon juicer does a great job on not only lemons but also limes and even small oranges to get every last drop of freshness from the fruit. This juicer has an extra gear mechanism increasing juicing power and minimizing hand strain. And that is the trick! (Chef’n FreshForce Citrus Juicer, Lemon) $25

Silicone Brush Set

Inspiring Kitchen 5 Favorite Fruit Vegetabel Finds

If you like to bake or bbq, this will be your new favorite tool. In fact, there are three brushes at different lengths in this set. Easy to clean silicone (the brush pops off for dishwasher) and no bristles end up in your food. The long brush is perfect for using on the BBQ so you don’t burn your arm putting sauce on the chicken. And they are made of heat resistant silicone. (Set of 3 Silicone Basting Brushes) $6

Red Berry Colander

Inspiring Kitchen 5 Favorite Fruit Vegetabel Finds

You no doubt have full size colanders in your cabinet. But do you have one that is just the perfect size for a pint of blueberries? Melamine construction makes it lightweight and easy to clean. (Tovolo Mini Melamine Berry Colander – Blue) $7

OXO Good Grips Green Salad Spinner

Inspiring Kitchen 5 Favorite Fruit Vegetabel Finds

No more buying bagged lettuce after using this salad spinner. Fresh lettuce from the farmer’s market will stay crisp using this easy to use tool. Washing lettuce is no big deal but drying it so that it retains its crunch can take a while. Not with this useful kitchen tool. It’s a simple, one handed operation that has a patented pump mechanism and brake button. Try using it for herbs and even drying berries. Multi tasking at its best!  (OXO Good Grips Green Salad Spinner) $25
